While we were lying in our beds
At dawn the bombs fell upon our heads
Tore the mortal fabric of my brother and his sons
Caused the walls to tremble,
Trampled mountains in our world
Chorus:
Who’s to blame?
Is it me for having played the game?
Who’s to blame?
What a shame.
While my lover lies asleep
I hear angry voices in the street
Threats of thievery and blood and more
I pray they don’t come knockin’ at my door
Chorus
On pavement cooling in the night
Wheels not turning towards the fight
Masks politicians wear are images of fear
Distorted smiles and laughter
Cannot hide the father’s tears
Chorus
